Chitosan Capsules

Scientists first extracted Chitosan from the outer shells of crustaceans in 1823. Chitosan occurs naturally in the shells of crabs, shrimps and snails, in certain kinds of cheese, yeast and also exists in small amounts in some varieties of mushroom. Chitosan is seen by some nutritionists as the sixth essential element for life after protein, fat, sugar, minerals and vitamins. It is a rare, natural edible animal fibre. Chitosan is a dietary fibre which aids digestion by helping stomach contents pass easily into the intestine and through the bowels. It also helps strengthen intestinal walls. Chitosan may help in the elimination of toxins from the body like heavy metal, lead and mercury. Chitosan can also help strengthen the immune system.
